C2 Saturday A.M. Bulldog Edition

Remarks by the President in Address to the Nation on Immigration

by request of RW, transcript of His Imperial Highness' address to the nation.

THE PRESIDENT: My fellow Americans, tonight, I’d like to talk with you about immigration. For more than 200 years, our tradition of welcoming immigrants from around the world has given us a tremendous advantage over other nations. It’s kept us youthful, dynamic, and entrepreneurial. It has shaped our character as a people with limitless possibilities –- people not trapped by our past, but able to remake ourselves as we choose. But today, our immigration system is broken -- and everybody knows it.

Obama Amnesty Both An Outrage And A Huge Opportunity

Amnesty: Now that President Obama has made the Constitution a welcome mat for illegals to wipe their feet on, Republicans can make a series of moves. This should be treated as the national emergency it is.

For the president to shield up to 5 million aliens from the deportation that statute requires is as much an unconstitutional act as it is an invitation to millions more to find any and every way in, knowing that this is no longer a nation of laws but of loopholes.

But with his own party either too corrupt or too cowardly to oppose him, and a lap dog media that wags its tail at his lefty ideology, impeachment isn't realistic. A number of other moves are quite realistic, however, and would go a long way toward fixing the problem:

30,000 missing emails from IRS' Lerner recovered

Up to 30,000 missing emails sent by former Internal Revenue Service official Lois Lerner have been recovered by the IRS inspector general, five months after they were deemed lost forever.

The U.S. Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA) informed congressional staffers from several committees on Friday that the emails were found among hundreds of “disaster recovery tapes” that were used to back up the IRS email system.

“They just said it took them several weeks and some forensic effort to get these emails off these tapes,” a congressional aide told the Washington Examiner.

The IRS, in a statement provided to the Examiner, said the agency and IRS Commissioner John Koskinen is fully cooperating with the investigation.

"As Commissioner Koskinen has stated, the IRS welcomes TIGTA’s independent review and expert forensic analysis." The IRS statement said. "Commissioner Koskinen has said for some time he would be pleased if additional Lois Lerner emails from this time frame could be found."

A CRASH IN THE MOJAVE

There's a demon in the skies over the Mojave Desert, and it's taken another life and another vehicle. In his latest Firewall, Bill Whittle draws on his experience as a pilot to help unravel the psychology of the presumed pilot error behind the crash of Virgin Galactic's SpaceShipTwo.
